Chet “The Pinhead” Tapp
Hi, I’m a pinhead how are you? Believe it or not, my first job in radio was for a local talk station in town. After a short stint there in the early 90’s I moved to San Diego for a radio job. I did a little bit of everything there and got paid a whole lot of nothing so I moved back to Salt Lake. After arriving back, I was able to swindle an overnight position at a station in Ogden. Shortly after that, I helped start an alternative station that lasted more than 15 years! I did it all at that station, working every air shift possible; overnights, evenings, mid-day’s and even filling in for the morning show occasionally.
And now I feel reborn with the inception of 103.1 The Wave. Thanks for listening, and please feel free to spread the word about The Next Wave of New Wave–103.1 The Wave!

Andrea
“You say ‘drama queen’ like it’s a bad thing.”
This is something Andrea has said to her mother, her bosses, and her boyfriends for years. From demanding a tiara for Christmas at the age of 6 to demanding the studio be stocked with Pepsi Zero and Cinnamon Bears every day—Andrea is right. She is a drama queen. And where would the world be without Drama Queens?
When not “drama queen-ing” you can find Andrea hanging out at 103.1 The Wave every weekday from 10AM – 3PM. She also loves hiking, shoe buying, animal rescuing, and wine drinking.
Disclaimer: 103.1 The Wave staff does not stock the studio with Pepsi Zero and Cinnamon Bears for Andrea. Instead, we hang shiny objects (aka, pictures of pretty shoes and Idris Elba) around the studio to distract her. Works every time.
Mister West
My love of radio started when I was a young teenager. I used to record DJs mentioning my name whenever I won prizes on the air. I created my own “radio station” by sticking a speaker in basement window of my home and begging the neighbor kids to come and listen to me play records, homemade jingles and contests. I eventually got a show at Weber State’s radio station, then convinced KCGL to hire me on the weekends and suddenly I was part of the early stages of Utah’s Modern Music Experience! I loved being part of the original KJQ where the Saturday Night Cold Case instant request show debuted as well as my campaign to free the airwaves from prepubescents. I worked at K-96 and later helped launch X96. I switched to 107.5 The End (later 101.9 The End) and spent eight great years as part of the Chunga and Mister morning show. Thanks to so many of you who listened and were a part of it! Now I’m back and thoroughly enjoying myself weekday afternoons from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on 103.1 The Wave, Your Classic Alternative!

From the young and impressionable age of 13, I knew I wanted to be a DJ. Somehow I successfully annoyed my way into a radio internship after high school. At some point, someone called in sick at the last minute so the boss paid me minimum wage to play music and push buttons in the middle of the night. I was hooked.
Other than listening to the greatest music genre EVER here at The Wave, I spend my time with my hubs and my two goofball pups, listening to audiobooks, hiking incredibly slowly, and icing my knees after wards.
